STAR is designated to some of the best articles Sapiens has to offer. They are used by editors as examples for writing other articles and are highest-quality entries, representing the very best work on the site. Only a very small fraction of all Sapiens articles reach this status — roughly around 0.1 % of entries are STAR.
How They Are Chosen
- Any Sapiens editor can nominate a potential featured article.
- A panel of impartial reviewers assess against the criteria in a formal review process.
- After approval, articles are added to the STAR list and may show up on the main page.
Why They Matter
- STAR articles are often used by other editors as models to improve Sapiens' overall quality.
- They often become some of the most detailed and informative resources one will find on any given topic — from historical events and scientific subjects to biographies.
